Why Noel gallaghers album is going to be better than anything Oasis put out in the last 10 years

Word has it Noel is currently in LA recording his solo album which comes as a great suprise to any fan of The Chief who only the other month declared it would be a while yet longer before he was to start work on the as yet untitled project.

Proof.

This is good news. Especially if he continues to write the sort of songs hes s been writing over the last 10 years or so.
As time went on with oasis Noel let the other members chip in with songs of there own.
What this highlighted was that Noels songs were as good as you first thought they were, and up against the other efforts it really showed.
He also began to take more of a lead with his own songs, by this I mean he started to sing more of his own songs which gives us a bit of insight into what his new album could possibly sound like.

Here are a few highlights that since the turn of the century featured on Oasis albums that were writen by and sang by Noel.

Mucky Fingers - taken from the album Dont Beleive The truth. Noel goes Dylan with an anti america theme running throughout. This song fades out and then was origionaly planned to go into the next song, swolen hand blues.

Swollen hand Blues...

This made it on as a b-side. cant remember which single it featured on, but bar a few iffy lyrics, this is a superb tune.

Bluesy psychodelic rock is the running theme so far, this song was the soundtrack to there 2005 tour documentary by the same name, lord dont slow me down

The next 2 songs come from the album Dig out your soul, the final oasis release and the album that split up the band. Noel really cut away from the other band members in this album and you can hear it in his songs. Hes reaching for something else that was away from the Oasis sound.
He has become great friends with serge from Kasabian over the years and Noel himself has mentioned that Serge has introduced him to a whole host of new artists that are obviously making an impact on the songs Noel is writing.
High Horse Lady followed by Falling Down

I thought I would include some of the Falling Down remix. Its 20 mins in total and completely and utterly mind blowing.
and here is the man himself explaining a little bit about the ghuys behind it.......and yet more evidence to suggest he was burnt out with creating the "OAsis sound". Noels now looking to do something different.

Finally, here is a demo that leaked a few years back. Its a bit more of a classic Noel song. Big chorus, catchy as hell, sounds like you have heard it before etc etc...
But its great.
I wanna live a dream in my record machine...

So there we have a small selection of songs by the great man that have featured on some Oasis releases over the years.
There are far more to go through such as the importance of being idle, but im going to leave it there and enjoy the sun for a bit.
Sounds promising wouldnt you say? we could have a bluesy psychedelic mash up with some massive choruses.
Just as long as we arent served up 12 tracks resembling she is love and force of nature we should be just fine.

Enjoy the sun kids
