General musings

Will be seeing The Charlatans play an acoustic gig tomorrow night, should be good if this performance is anything to go by (try and ignore Tim Burgess' dodgy barnet)...

Review will be on here the following day if I feel up to it.

Beady Eyes album didnt get to number 1....
Hardly a surprise really. Liam Gallagher mentioned that it was "a reality check" when there first single "The Roller" only made 31 in the charts.
This will be another blow to his ego, and probably more damaging. This is the first time he will of featured on a studio album that hasnt made the top spot in the UK.
All of the Oasis albums made number 1....
Beady Eye only made #3

A sign of the times? Maybe. Albums, especially rock albums simply dont sell like they used to. same can be said for singles. Foo Fighters released there new song last week and it didnt make the top 20.
The Foos wont be phased by this. there album will more than likely go number 1, and even if it doesnt there tour will be MASSIVE and will make up for any short comings in the charts.
Beady Eye dont have it so easy. They are only just starting to gig and even though the clips on youtube suggest they can put on a decent show, its going to take some time before they are matching the crowds Oasis played to around the world.
Time will tell, but its been a bumpy ride so far for Liam and co.

I wrote a song today. Its called "Cheese Shoe". A working title, sure, but the song sounds good. Ive got a few now. Some I like, some will be good once theyve been beefed up, some I now actually hate, but one way or another, there is an EP emerging that could sound fuckin useless to everyone else but I will like it.
I will eventually post some on here but they need finishing before I unleash them on your unsuspecting ears.

Dirk Kuyt has emerged as the LFC dressing room DJ. He plays the likes of Kings Of Leon and The Killers by all accounts.
He can play whatever he wants as far as im concerned - as long as we keep winning.
I personally couldnt see myself getting ready for a massive game against the like of Man Utd with Sex On Fire or Mr Brightside playing in the background, but we are talking about footballers here. Nani and co will of been shitting bricks at the sound of KoL's "Notion" blaring down the hallways of Anfield....
Maybe not.
At least Dirks not attempting to make his own music....

I dont think John barnes has anything to worry about...

Boardwalk Empire, the new HBO production starring Steve "im in everything thats good usually playing a small role but steeling the show" Buscemi, uses my fave band The Brian Jonestown Massacres song "Straight Up And Down" for its opening credits.
Hopefully this leads to a bit of recognition for a band that truly deserves it. More people should know about them.

Sorry about the second vid fucking up a bit around the 2 min mark, only a small blip. Good performance tho innit? Especially the last 5-4 mins. Brilliant jam. If you like the show, enjoy this song, please check out the album its from, Take It From The Man
If you like the Rolling Stones, you will like this. I promise.

Phil Collins has quit music. Praise the fucking lord.
He has apologised for being so successful...
"I'm sorry that it was all so successful. I honestly didn't mean it to happen like that. It's hardly surprising that people grew to hate me, I don't think anyone's going to miss me."
HA!
What a cunt.
And get this, he considered killing himself.
"I wouldn't blow my head off. I'd overdose or do something that didn't hurt. But I wouldn't do that to the children," (Rollingstone.com.)
Cheers Phil, thanks for everything. You can rest easy that although people may not miss you,  they will certainly remember you...

Your influence on todays youth is there for all to see. Hahaha.
I especially love the comments left on youtube, personal favourites being...

"ASSHOLE !
Phill Collins is a great guy ! PLEASE Respect him."

 and....

"RIP Phil Collins. He was truely a great and honorable man. He was a real hero, who died for the American cause.
May he rest in peace."

finally...

""In ur description it says he died at 75 and his 65 year old arms couldnt take the drumming. If your going to make a fake video at least put the same thing. And no dumbass hes 59 alive and well he writng a book."

HAHAHAHAHAHA! ...his 65 year old arms couldnt take the drumming. Brilliant.
The full description of the video is this;
Acclaimed rock musician Phil Collins passed away at the age of 76. Reports say that, during a rehearsal with his band, he drummed far too intensely, causing his brittle 65-year-old arms to fall off. While his band mates ran for an ambulance, it was too late. Phil Collins was pronounced Dead on Arrival.

If only.

Thats it from me for another day. I hope you have learnt something from todays blog, this sort of info is tough to come by but now you know so much more about how the world works and that all because of me.
But dont thank me, thank Dirk Kuyt.
