Well, seeing as i am now in double figures for "blog followers" (its only taken the best part of 4 months.......whatever) I thought I would treat you all.
Please listen to these songs. Summer is on its way, its time to feel good.
Hope you all enjoyed the Museums, there will be more to come in the coming weeks I promise. It will all be mind blowing.
Anyway, some songs and some words.......
What can you say about Kaleidoscope other than they made brilliant brilliant music that never got recognition it deserved at the time. If this song doesnt make you tap ya feet your dead inside.
Its been quite some time since a song has grabbed me like this has done over the last few days. Only just come accross "The Beach Fossils". They have a brilliant hazy laid back vibe going on which is perfect for the summer, but there is an undercurrent of melencholy that runs throughout there album which cuts through there music like screwdriver through a melon.
There album sounds alot like this song, its all quite similar, they defo have there own sound, but it never grates. Basically, if you like this song, get the album.
Wire - they are still going strong and still sound fresh. I have all there albums on my hard drive but only have there first 2 (this is from there 2nd album - Chairs Missing) on my ipod. There is just to much quality music to get through at the moment! This is them sounding there most "poppy" but they can punk out with the best of them. Any fan of punk music, anyone who apreciates english guitar music, or anyone with a soul should look into these lot. Start with there first 2 albums and go from there.
The Beat Happening. These lot, along with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, are a band which made me realise that ANYONE can make music. you dont need to know what a Q sharp bar chord is, just do it.
Theres 4 for you all. If you enjoyed any of them, look up the band, they are all great - trust me. Plenty to sink your teeth into.
Homework for this week....find out what a Q sharp bar chord is.
This could be anything you want it to be. As of right now, its nothing. An empty vessel of bad grammar littered with doubt.
Bucky Lagrange & The Museums - first listen
Here it is then, the new demo recorded by Bucky Lagrange & The Museums. The working title is, "Japan had a tsunami". Not offensive.
Its a work in progress with the singing and ending needing sorting out, there is an extra min or so of the song to be added on at the end which is nice but not finished.
The "band" have also just recorded a new song, written today, on the spot, and recorded in an hour. I liked it when I started but now, I gotta say, I hate it. ha.
Anyway, heres first listen of The Museums....

Gris-Gris Gumbo Ya Ya
Another day another hangover another blog
I mentioned a review....
The Charlatans performed live in wrexham the other day. it was an acoustic performance with a more electric encore.
The venue was packed, really full, quite an energetic crowd that kind of fell flat during the gig. the atmosphere was quite strange. I dont think the acoustic music of the band suited the venue or the crowd.
The band were solid, most of the songs sounded strong in there new stripped down versions but they were lost to a crowd that was expecting something a bit more high tempo.
Cant be arsed saying much else about that. It was a good night.
Arctic Monkeys have revealed there new album name, tracklisting and release date.
"Suck It And See" will be released on June 6th. Heres the tracklisting...
'She's Thunderstorms'
'Black Treacle'
'Brick By Brick'
'The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala'
'Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair'
'Library Pictures'
'All My Own Stunts'
'Reckless Serenade'
'Piledriver Waltz'
'Love Is A Laserquest'
'Suck It And See'
'That's Where You're Wrong'
Stupid stupid name for an album, the song titles sound interesting though...
Looking forward to it.
Jarule is gonna go prison for 2 years for gun posession. Hahahaha. What a goon.
However, it wont be for a few months because the judge is giving him time to sort out his taxes and finish his album. What a joke.
Heres a new song that will be featuring on the album which is called "The Renaissance Project"
Jesus Christ....
So anyway, moving on...
The Strokes have an albuum out in a week or two, which is called "Angels". Various band members have mentioned how difficult it was to record, how there is tension running through the band and that, basically, it aint been much fun being The Strokes recently.
Now i quite liked there last album, First impressions Of Earth, which was released a staggering 5 years ago. It wasnt brilliant, but it was ok. The trouble with The Strokes is they basically did everything they needed to on there first album. They have been chasing that ever since and in my opinion, they wont ever get close to it.
Julian Cassablancas, the lead singer incase you were wondering, released a solo album in 2009 which was very promising and I can see him giving up on The Strokes if they fall on there arse with "Angels". It sounds like they might be on the way out judging on the interviews etc....
Anyway, heres a new song by them. Underwhelming I think is the word your looking for...
Is it just me or does that sound like a Coral b-side or something?
tired.
Ive been listening to a band called Black Ryder recently. Quite good. Sound like BRMC/spacemen 3/Mazzy Starr ish.
If you dont know about those bands you can hear them here, here and here
And you can listen to some Black Ryder now....
Not got much else to say for now, speak to you again soon.

The Charlatans - Live
They played accoustic, it was average
I am fuckin mullered, I will write this properly later.

Forgot about this, Arctic Monkeys have a new tune....
I forgot to mention this in my earlier post, but The Arctic Monkeys have released a new song on there official website, complete with video. The song is called "Brick By Brick" and you can hear it right now...
What do you think?
I personally love it. Got a great 70's american feel to it. Nice jangly guitars, cracking middle 8, quite catchy. its a buzz.
I have read a few comments left by fans on a few other blogs and also on youtube. The general consensus is the lyrics are weak and the song sounds to "americany".
There are also quite a few comments mentioning there 3rd album "humbug", how it was a massive let down and that this new song is to similar to the sound from that album.
I fucking LOVE the monkeys for this. When I heard humbug I thought to myself that this is an album that will piss off at least half of there hardcore fan base. There were no songs about standing in line at the chippy, drinking a 6 pack of lager and getting a taxi home. They did that on there first albums. They were 17-18 year old lads. They were writing songs that mirrored there lives at the time.
What is the point of writing more songs like that when you have already done it and they are no longer relevent to you?
No, im happy with the (slightly) new direction. Will anyone else? Fuck knows. I dont think Alex and the other 3 will give 2 shits. They made it big on there first album, they have nothing to prove and they are making music for them.
Good lads.

General musings
Will be seeing The Charlatans play an acoustic gig tomorrow night, should be good if this performance is anything to go by (try and ignore Tim Burgess' dodgy barnet)...
Review will be on here the following day if I feel up to it.
Beady Eyes album didnt get to number 1....
Hardly a surprise really. Liam Gallagher mentioned that it was "a reality check" when there first single "The Roller" only made 31 in the charts.
This will be another blow to his ego, and probably more damaging. This is the first time he will of featured on a studio album that hasnt made the top spot in the UK.
All of the Oasis albums made number 1....
Beady Eye only made #3
A sign of the times? Maybe. Albums, especially rock albums simply dont sell like they used to. same can be said for singles. Foo Fighters released there new song last week and it didnt make the top 20.
The Foos wont be phased by this. there album will more than likely go number 1, and even if it doesnt there tour will be MASSIVE and will make up for any short comings in the charts.
Beady Eye dont have it so easy. They are only just starting to gig and even though the clips on youtube suggest they can put on a decent show, its going to take some time before they are matching the crowds Oasis played to around the world.
Time will tell, but its been a bumpy ride so far for Liam and co.
I wrote a song today. Its called "Cheese Shoe". A working title, sure, but the song sounds good. Ive got a few now. Some I like, some will be good once theyve been beefed up, some I now actually hate, but one way or another, there is an EP emerging that could sound fuckin useless to everyone else but I will like it.
I will eventually post some on here but they need finishing before I unleash them on your unsuspecting ears.
Dirk Kuyt has emerged as the LFC dressing room DJ. He plays the likes of Kings Of Leon and The Killers by all accounts.
He can play whatever he wants as far as im concerned - as long as we keep winning.
I personally couldnt see myself getting ready for a massive game against the like of Man Utd with Sex On Fire or Mr Brightside playing in the background, but we are talking about footballers here. Nani and co will of been shitting bricks at the sound of KoL's "Notion" blaring down the hallways of Anfield....
Maybe not.
At least Dirks not attempting to make his own music....
I dont think John barnes has anything to worry about...
Boardwalk Empire, the new HBO production starring Steve "im in everything thats good usually playing a small role but steeling the show" Buscemi, uses my fave band The Brian Jonestown Massacres song "Straight Up And Down" for its opening credits.
Hopefully this leads to a bit of recognition for a band that truly deserves it. More people should know about them.
Sorry about the second vid fucking up a bit around the 2 min mark, only a small blip. Good performance tho innit? Especially the last 5-4 mins. Brilliant jam. If you like the show, enjoy this song, please check out the album its from, Take It From The Man
If you like the Rolling Stones, you will like this. I promise.
Phil Collins has quit music. Praise the fucking lord.
He has apologised for being so successful...
"I'm sorry that it was all so successful. I honestly didn't mean it to happen like that. It's hardly surprising that people grew to hate me, I don't think anyone's going to miss me."
HA!
What a cunt.
And get this, he considered killing himself.
"I wouldn't blow my head off. I'd overdose or do something that didn't hurt. But I wouldn't do that to the children," (Rollingstone.com.)
Cheers Phil, thanks for everything. You can rest easy that although people may not miss you, they will certainly remember you...
Your influence on todays youth is there for all to see. Hahaha.
I especially love the comments left on youtube, personal favourites being...
finally...
""In ur description it says he died at 75 and his 65 year old arms couldnt take the drumming. If your going to make a fake video at least put the same thing. And no dumbass hes 59 alive and well he writng a book."
HAHAHAHAHAHA! ...his 65 year old arms couldnt take the drumming. Brilliant.
The full description of the video is this;
Acclaimed rock musician Phil Collins passed away at the age of 76. Reports say that, during a rehearsal with his band, he drummed far too intensely, causing his brittle 65-year-old arms to fall off. While his band mates ran for an ambulance, it was too late. Phil Collins was pronounced Dead on Arrival.
If only.
Thats it from me for another day. I hope you have learnt something from todays blog, this sort of info is tough to come by but now you know so much more about how the world works and that all because of me.
But dont thank me, thank Dirk Kuyt.

Art.
Lets make some art.
And drink more beer.
Fizz art. Fizz naked, pork pie, Grinderman in the background. Worth a million bucks if you ask me.
Did you know Gadaffi was the name of a rap artist who was part of Tupacs crew back in the day. What a bellend.
And Carling is a shit beer. Its like drinking soup.

Sun is Shining
Its March 1st, 2011, and the sun is shining away like a giant orange son of a bitch. Seeing as I am currently sleeping in a room made by at least 2/3's glass, the light shines in and wakes me up every day. Today was no exception but unlike most days, it actually became really warm in here, so much so I had to open the door to get some air in. For a split second it felt like summer which has made me listen to a few tunes first thing to continue the summer vibe.
Anyone who says they prefer winter to summer is a fool.
First up, this is Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros with a track called "home". Its been used on a few adverts so you might recognise it. Its a love song sang as a duet, and it has that brilliant uality of being totally familiar but completely new at the same time.
next up is The Young Sinclairs - Darling. This is a band that can only ever be listened to when the suns shining! every song is sun kissed and has a awesome hazy quality that reaks of california beach bums and hippies. Its basically The Byrds but not covering Dylan for a change
Asteroid#4 - Shes All I Need
Taken from the album "These Flowers Of Ours", this provided the soundtrack for summer '08 for me. If you like the sound of this song you will love the album, infact you will love the band. I will bet you money!
Happy mondays - bobs yer uncle
The Mun-deeees goin all sexy on everyone. When they were on form they were genius, and theyre dirty mancs so i suppose they fit the theme of the last few days for me.
